The Saskatchewan Act became effective on Septemmber 1, 1905, and established the new Province of Saskatchewan as part of the Confederation of Canada. Inauguration Day was held on September 4, 1905.
The land called Saskatchewan was first occupied by several First Nations, including the Cree, Dene, Dakota, Saulteaux, Niitsitapi, and is homeland of the Métis.

Join us as we will celebrate the history of Saskatchewan. From the history of Indigenous peoples, to the fur trade, to European immigration, the growth of agriculture, economic growth, the Treaties, truth and reconciliation to Saskatchewan’s place in the world.

Saskatchewan’s economy has evolved throughout the past 120 years from the fur trade, to agriculture, to mining, to oil, to technology and more. Join us as we highlight the major milestones in the growth of the Saskatchewan economy and our place in the global economy.
Community
Saskatchewan is a community; one made up of countless smaller communities that together make up our Province. Join us as we celebrate communities from across Saskatchewan: First Nations, Metis, Newcomers, Settlers, from all corners of Saskatchewans, and all Nations, villages, towns and Cities.
